It's official: The School for Good and Evil series is getting a movie! Soman Chainani released the news on his Instagram! I realize this is news that's kinda late, since he posted this on May 28, but... for those of you who didn't know!

The School for Good and Evil is a YA fiction series that is part fairy tale, part fantasy. It was a huge part of my 12-year-old self, but I guarantee you'll still like it even if you're older! It has 6 books in total, and an additional handbook to go with them. When I was reading this series, it was still being published, so I haven't read the last two books, but I intend to in the future! The book stars two girls, Sophie and Agatha, one clearly evil and one clearly good. When they get to the School for Good and Evil, Sophie, the "good" one, is placed in the School of Evil, and Agatha, the "bad" one, is placed in the School of Good. This leads to a chain of events that upsets their friendship, especially when a boy comes into the picture. That's all I'll say about the series, but if you want some more info, check out this website: https://schoolforgoodandevil.com/
Alright, so some more about the movie! It's in the very beginning stages, which means there isn't a cast, release date, trailer, or anything like that. What we do know is that the movie is being released by Netflix and adapted for screenplay by Universal Pictures. The director is Paul Feig, who is the director of smash-hit movies like Ghostbusters, The Heat, and Ella Enchanted, so we know that this movie is in good hands. This is the link to a video that has everything you need to know about the SGE movie so far: https://schoolforgoodandevil.com/the-school-for-good-and-evil-movie-everything-you-need-to-know-so-far/
